#TheOneInMilano diary with Scatto Italiano

Welcome back #FAM!
We are ready and proud to present you another inspirational story about Milano in collaboration with Scatto Italiano.

Scatto Italiano project was born in 2013, after one year of research and studies in the field of design and Italian cycling tradition. Combining the passion for cycling and the engineering expertise of Giuseppe Gurrado and Pietro Nicola Coletta, with the aim to contain, within an object as simple as bicycle, Italian craft workers, typical of the Made in Italy, reinterpreted with a personalized, innovative and contemporary approach.
A style reflected in the design and manufacture of the patented line of Bicycle accessories designed by Lucrezia Pascale, new designer of Scatto Italiano team.

The creative idea behind this production was the tailor made concept.
A diary of Milano spent in some of GWD’s favourites locations, where every one of them was representing a tribute to Milano’s traditional craftsmanship, uniquenessexcellence and internationality, using The One full tailored made bicycle as a phisical trade d’union during the day.

Enjoy the video shot and produced by TPM Productions.

The One by Scatto Italiano

Scatto Italiano have just launched their new full tailor made service called The One to allow their clients to create customized Scatto Italiano bicycles crafted to their own desires.
Infinite combinations, unique colors and materials: from the logo initials stitched on the saddle to colors created based on speficis requests, always in compliance with the high quality standards.
Fabrizio tried in advance one of their newly created jewels during this day in Milano enjoying both the ciclying comfort and the amazing design of this bike!

Breakfast at Baglioni Hotel Carlton

The first stop of the diary was at Baglioni Hotel Carlton Milano, (part of The Leading Hotels of The World) where Mr. Fabrizio Oriani (Founder & Creative Director of GWD) met with his dear friend Mr. Giampaolo Alliata for breakfast.

With its amazing terraces and the pedestrian entrance from Via della Spiga – Milan’s most exclusive shopping street — Baglioni Hotel Carlton is at the crossroads of culture, fashion and design. The boutique property is proud of its original interior art and decor, rich brocade fabrics and one-of-a-kind furnishings. A refined collection of Grand Deluxe Rooms and Suites featuring spacious private terraces overlooking Via della Spiga offers guests large private outdoor spaces where they can relax in the heart of the city. Baglioni Terrace, facing the charming garden, is the perfect choice for light meals or breakfast.

Shave at Antica Barbieria Colla

After breakfast the next stop was at Antica Barbieria Colla for a relaxing and intimate shave with the master barber Maurizio Prota.

Antica Barbieria Colla is the most famous barber shop in Milano, known for prestige, for its traditions and widely recommended by its Italian and International clientele. Founded by Dino Colla in 1904, the Barbershop is the place to seek hair, beard and mustaches treatment as well as to meet famous people. Well known political figures as well as show business people are its regular customers: an extremely attractive and sought after place to be at.

Meeting at GioPagani

The busy day continued at GIOPAGANI atelier; even if it had just rained the stability of the bicycle guaranteed a safe journey while the rear fender protected the light yellow pants Fabrizio was wearing from spurts.
Opening the GIOPAGANI Atelier’s doors is entering A World Apart, made out of manifold inspirations bursting into unexpected emotions!
GIOPAGANI Couture vibes its Capsule Collections in via Montebello 30, inside the evocative Brera Design District where over 600 square meters unveil memories of past travels staging different environments and moods.

Gio’ is such an inspiring and genius architect, designer and very welcoming host. It’s always a pleasure and a great source of inspiration visiting his atelier, having a cool chat about new textures and palettes and getting lost in this amazing location.

Bespoke Tailoring at Sciamat

After all of  this inspirational design, came the moment of another example of craftmanship skills, thus we visited Sciamat Showroom for the second fitting session of Fabrizio’s bespoke blazer with Mr. Nicola Ricci, Sciamat co-founder.
Fabrizio was already wearing a striped Sciamat bespoke blazer for the first look of the day.

Sciamat was born in 2002 as the desire of his founder Valentino Ricci, a young lawyer
that, together with his wife Silvana, his brother Nicola and his dear friend of childhood
Pippo, decides to give form to his dream: to found, as a small jewel, a high-level
masculine tailoring able to be innovative and for the true connoiseurs; a new route of style marked by a renewed relationship with the client.
A tailoring where the suit responds really and only to the desires of whom wears it.

Changing into afternoon attire

After lunch and to be ready to face the afternoon in style. Fabrizio went back to Baglioni Hotel Carlton for a change of attire.

For the afternoon outfit Fabrizio opted for a navy blue bespoke blazer by Sciamat.

Tea Experience at Palazzo Parigi

The second to last experience of the day was at Palazzo Parigi Hotel & Grand Spa, (part  of The Leading Hotels of The Word)  where Fabrizio met Charley for an unwinding tea experience.

Meticulously re-constructed on the former site of the historical Palazzo Cramer from the 1600, the Palazzo Parigi Hotel & Grand Spa is set in the heart of Milan, in the fashionable Brera District. Facing a private park and surrounded by residences, banks and offices, it is close to the glittering shopping district Via della Spiga, art galleries, bars and night spots. Designed by Pierre Yves Rochon, featuring a classic style of the ’30 with a private garden and fountain, the new palace hotel embodies the very best of Milanese style with subtle French influences.

Palazzo Parigi Hotel in Milan offers everyday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. the most delicious Afternoon Tea in Milan menu created with the chicest patisserie in Paris, Ladurée.
At Caffè Parigi, the hotel’s informal lounge, we had the unique opportunity to taste the iconic macarons – delicious pretty baked shells filled with a creamy ganache in a rainbow of colours and flavours – paired with a selection of Ladurée’s signature teas.

Shooting in Porta Nuova

The last stop was in the new Porta Nuova district for a photo shooting.
We liked to pair the innovative approach of Scatto Italiano with one of the newest and modern areas of Milano.

We hope you’ve enjoyed this diary as much as we did realizing it!

With love & style, Charlene and Fabrizio!
